This week in round 4 of the Saturday Metro League, the TAFE NSW Polecats are set to swoop into Storey Park when they take on the Asquith Magpies in another historic clash for the 2 clubs.
With both sides coming off a win last week, the Polecats will be keen to continue their form which that saw the side put 36 points on Macquarie at Blackmore Oval last round. While a win for Asquith could put them on top of the Metro League table depending on the outcome of Sydney Uni and UTS Wanderers. The Polecats go into the match down on a few troops due to injury and availability, including captain Shane Brown who is still out with a shoulder injury suffered in round 1, though the side will be keen to show their depth with a chance for fringe players to step up and show the coaches they deserve a regular spot.
“We’ve trained well this week and are ready to show the competition where we stand!” Polecats coach Chris Thompson.
Today also sees 3 club legends return to Storey Park for the first time in decades with Bob Lennox, Chris Thompson and Peter Lamey, who all played for Asquith during their playing careers, but today our club legends will be looking for victory to show Asquith why we are the strongest club in the comp!
So with pride and points on the line, head down to Storey Park to watch to these great clubs clash for the first time ever and remember if you can’t get down to the match you can keep up to date with live scores at www.polecats.com.au/live or on our socials proudly brought to you this week by Ants Pants Pest Control.
